Dr. Schwartz's approach goes beyond the operating room. She spends time understanding her patients' stories, fears, and dreams, ensuring that they receive not only the best medical care but also emotional and psychological support. She believes in the power of a compassionate doctor-patient relationship and the impact it has on recovery and overall well-being.

The Journey

Dr. Schwartz's journey began in Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania, inspired by her father's dedication as a family practice doctor. From a young age, she was captivated by the medical field and decided at just 10 years old that she would become a neurosurgeon. Her early experiences, combined with her education at Bryn Mawr College, forged a path that led her to become a top neurosurgeon specializing in pediatric neurosurgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and trauma.

Dr. Schwartz's career has not been without challenges. Facing gender biases and personal setbacks, she persevered with resilience and determination. Her experiences have shaped her into a compassionate and skilled surgeon who deeply understands the importance of hope and perseverance.

PROVIDING HOPE WHERE IT SEEMS LOST

A LIFELONG DEDICATION TO HEALING

PROVIDING HOPE WHERE IT SEEMS LOST

Dr. Schwartz's passion lies in helping children with inoperable brain tumors. She believes that no child should ever be written off as untreatable. Her mentor, Dr. Fred Epstein, inspired her to take on the most challenging cases, providing hope and extending the lives of children who had been given little chance of survival.

One notable case is a young girl diagnosed with a glioblastoma, a highly aggressive brain tumor. Despite the bleak prognosis and the challenges posed by the healthcare system, Dr. Schwartz performed a complex surgery that not only extended the girl's life but also allowed her to see her daughter graduate from high school. This story is a testament to Dr. Schwartz's belief in never taking away a patient's hope.
